About The Position

The Special Projects Group of KPFF is seeking an ambitious and initiative-driven Junior or Senior level Civil Engineering student for a summer internship in the Seattle Office. This Civil Engineering Summer Internship is approximately 40 hours a week for up to 90 days. Job responsibilities will vary depending on the project and individual intern. Our work focuses on civil, design-build transportation, structural, industrial, and waterfront infrastructure throughout the US, with an emphasis on the West Coast and Pacific Northwest regions. We often act as prime consultants, tackling unusual, multi-discipline challenges that require an innovative and team-oriented approach.

Requirements

  • Ability to work collaboratively with project team members and clients on a variety of projects
  • Detail oriented and desire for continued learning
  • Clear communication and writing skills
  • General understanding of MicroStation, InRoads, and Openroads design
  • General understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D

Responsibilities

  • Assist a civil engineer with various tasks associated with project design, including calculations, plan production and review, and cost estimating.
  • Assist with project site visits. The applicant may be required to navigate through a jobsite and must comply with all Company and Site safety requirements in the office and on the jobsite.
