About The Position

RailPros is seeking a Civil/Traffic Project Engineer to join their team. This role involves applying extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to lead design, mentor junior staff, and prepare PS&E deliverables on complex projects. The engineer will assist a Project Manager in managing civil/traffic projects, reviewing project documents, performing administrative duties such as invoicing and budget tracking, and serving as a technical specialist. The position also involves assisting in proposal preparation and developing project scopes and fees.

Requirements

Advanced knowledge and experience in civil engineering design required to produce PS&E deliverables.
Experience with CAD and design software including Bently MicroStation and AutoCAD products
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Experience tracking project budget and schedule
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
8+ years prior experience needed
Professional Engineer (PE) in home state.

Nice To Haves

Experience on projects including rail grade crossings, roadway signage, roadway striping, utility coordination, traffic signals, detour lans, traffic staging, and/or ADA design are preferred.
Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
Experience as a civil discipline lead on projects managing project team and deliverable production.

Responsibilities

Assist Project Manager in managing civil/traffic projects
Review completed project documents for conformity and quality assurance
Perform administrative duties related to managing a project (invoicing, budget tracking, and schedule tracking)
Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
Assist in preparation of proposals
Develop scope and fee for projects
Coordinate work with staff necessary to complete assignments
Assist Project Manager in overseeing scopes, budgets, and schedules for project
Interact with clients and stakeholders
Coordinate project work with technical discipline
Relationships with industry peers and potential teaming partners
