About The Position

Directly supervise and coordinate activities of construction or extraction workers. The Superintendent position will be responsible to handle, but is not limited to the following:

Requirements

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 5 years of more in construction and industrial services.
  • Frequent standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, walking and crouching in high heat temperature settings.
  • Must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must operate heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate, or schedule the activities of construction or extractive workers.
  • Direct face to face customer service communication
  • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.
  • Inspect work progress, equipment, or construction sites to verify safety to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Locate, measure, and mark site locations or placement of structures or equipment.
  • Coordinate work activities with other construction project activities.
  • Assign work to employees, based on material or worker requirements of specific jobs.
  • Confer with managerial or technical personnel, other departments, or contractors to resolve problems and coordinate activities.
  • Obtains required permits and licenses; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement.
  • Analyze worker or production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
  • Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, or company policies.
  • Record information such as personnel, production, or operational data on specified forms or reports.
  • Provide assistance to workers engaged in construction or extraction activities, using hand tools or other equipment.
  • Arrange for repairs of equipment or machinery.
  • Suggest or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, and hires.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Assist skilled construction or extraction personnel.
  • Communicate with other construction or extraction personnel to discuss project details.
  • Coordinate construction project activities.
  • Direct construction or extraction personnel.
  • Estimate construction project labor requirements.
  • Estimate materials requirements for projects.
  • Evaluate projects to determine compliance with technical specifications.
  • Inspect equipment or tools to be used in construction or excavation.
  • Mark reference points on construction materials.
  • Measure work site dimensions.
  • Monitor construction operations.
  • Order construction or extraction materials or equipment.
  • Record operational or environmental data.
  • Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Train construction or extraction personnel.
