About The Position

L.F. Driscoll is seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead site development and civil construction activities for their Data Center projects. This role is crucial for overseeing all field operations, including site preparation, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, stormwater infrastructure, and site logistics, from project startup through turnover for vertical construction.

Requirements

8+ years of field experience.
5+ years in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent role overseeing site development, civil, or infrastructure construction.
Experience with earthwork, mass grading, underground utilities, and site infrastructure.
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and utility plans.
Well-developed communication, interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Prepares the project schedule and maintains accurate reports on project status.
Oversees timely and cost-effective field coordination, quality control, and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces.
Reviews project status and progress with the Project Manager and client representatives regularly.
Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by all personnel.
Directs subcontractor activities within site development and civil construction.
Analyzes manpower, material, and equipment requirements and interfaces these with other designated personnel.
Implements and enforces established field construction management policies, procedures, and work rules.
Prepares reports and forecasts, keeping supervisors informed of progress.
Manages QA/QC and ensures understanding of client engineering specifications.
Leads all site development activities including clearing, grubbing, excavation, mass grading, and earthwork.
Coordinates installation of underground utilities (storm, sanitary, water, telecommunications, electrical duct bank).
Oversees erosion and sediment control measures.
Manages site logistics, haul roads, laydown areas, temporary facilities, and construction access.
Coordinates with utility providers, inspectors, municipalities, and civil design teams.
Monitors production rates and quantities for excavation, backfill, utility installation, and site infrastructure.
Ensures work complies with grading plans, utility drawings, and civil engineering specifications.
Leads civil subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project schedules and milestones.
Coordinates turnover of civil infrastructure to vertical construction teams.
