About The Position
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a civil/structural engineer to join a team dedicated to engineering works mainly targeting hydroelectric projects. The role involves using experience and expertise to support the client in decision-making or to clarify their needs. You will work within the engineering team for the analysis, design, and rehabilitation of structures as part of various dam, hydraulic works, building, and bridge projects in the field of hydroelectricity. The hydroelectric team in Montreal and Vancouver has over 100 employees and covers both the Canadian and international markets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, structural profile, Master’s degree in civil engineering, an asset
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the design and rehabilitation of water retaining structures, bridges and heavy civil engineering structures
- Knowledge of Canadian Dam Safety guidelines
- Being a member of the EGBC and being eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Canada
- Fluency in English (spoken and written), bilingualism, an asset
- Strong computer skills and a working knowledge of SAP2000, Abaqus, ANSY

Responsibilities
- Structural design of hydraulic structures, hydroelectric power plants and related structures (concrete and steel)
- Rehabilitation of hydraulic works, hydroelectric power plants and related structures
- Multidisciplinary coordination, attending and leading design meetings (internally and with the client)
- Production of preliminary and detailed engineering, and preparation and/or verification of design calculations and associated calculation notes
- Participation and supervision of the production of the main technical deliverables, i.e. design reports, structural drawings and technical specifications for calls for tenders and for construction
- Supervision and mentoring of junior staff
- Follow-up the works during construction
