Civil/Site Engineering Internship - Summer 2027

About The Position

This internship provides exposure to real-world projects that help shape communities while offering valuable insight into civil engineering design, project development, regulatory requirements, and construction practices. You may participate in site visits to assess existing conditions and verify that construction aligns with engineering plans, while also assisting with feasibility studies, site assessments, permitting research, and project documentation. In the office, you will support engineers with site layouts, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management systems, utility design, and other civil infrastructure improvements. You may also assist with preparing and updating technical drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, compiling and analyzing project data, maintaining project documentation, and contributing to technical reports and project deliverables.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Interest in civil/site engineering, land development, infrastructure, and the built environment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred but not required
  • Previous internship, co-op, or field experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the planning, design, and development of civil engineering projects.
  • Contributing to site investigations, technical drafting, data analysis, project design, and construction support.
  • Participating in site visits to assess existing conditions and verify that construction aligns with engineering plans.
  • Assisting with feasibility studies, site assessments, permitting research, and project documentation.
