About The Position

Collier Engineering is seeking an experienced Civil-Site Project Manager (with a P.E. license) to help lead our Civil-Site Design Department and further develop the department to align with Collier Engineering’s Vision of improving Tennessee communities. We are looking for a driven individual with a background in general civil-site design to oversee various projects in the civil engineering industry for public and private clients. Projects will include roadway construction and land development (residential, commercial, and mixed-use) projects. The successful candidate will have experience with AutoDesk Civil3D, demonstrate reliability, make judgment calls independently, take ownership of assigned tasks, and be team oriented.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with TN Professional Engineering license
  • 5+ years of experience (minimum) on a varied background of projects, including residential, commercial, mixed-use, campus / institutional, and public works required
  • Experience with AutoDesk Civil3D
  • Demonstrate reliability
  • Make judgment calls independently
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks
  • Be team oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible work schedule and ability to meet project deadlines
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Ability to qualify for insurance through our Fleet Program

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Experience managing a multi-discipline / multi-company design team while ensuring the project comes in on time and under budget.
  • Leadership skills to lead a design team from inception through contract documents and construction administration to final inspection and acceptance.
  • Written and oral communication skills to coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff.
  • Knowledge and experience ensuring project compliance with regulations, permits, and environmental restrictions.
  • Experience with quality control/quality assurance reviews to analyze coordinated sets of project plans and report deviations from plans and specifications to client, subcontractor, and/or supervisor.
  • Knowledge of construction techniques, design, TDOT / Metro / Development specifications, construction documents, and project processes.
  • Familiarity with standard operations, policies, and procedures within the A / E industry.
  • Mentorship skills to create a dynamic learning environment.
  • Looking to take ownership and pride in tasks assigned with a team-oriented, positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee various projects in the civil engineering industry for public and private clients.
  • Manage a multi-discipline / multi-company design team while ensuring the project comes in on time and under budget.
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and deliverables to distribute to the project team and clients as necessary.
  • Lead a design team from inception through contract documents and construction administration to final inspection and acceptance.
  • Coordinate projects with clients, contractors, outside consultants, and firm staff.
  • Ensure project compliance with regulations, permits, and environmental restrictions.
  • Perform quality control/quality assurance reviews to analyze coordinated sets of project plans and report deviations from plans and specifications to client, subcontractor, and/or supervisor.
  • Coordinate the production of project tasks and present deliverables to clients and vendors as applicable.
  • Mentor team members to create a dynamic learning environment.
