About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Manager/Senior Project Manager to join their Transportation Design Group in Charlottesville, VA. This role is responsible for the successful management of assigned projects, developing strong client relationships, and contributing to marketing and business development efforts. The Project Manager will oversee technical quality, profitability, and project schedules, while coordinating project staff and managing client communications. They will also be responsible for negotiating scopes and fees, billing, and assisting with fee collection. Maintaining superior client relationships and cross-selling Timmons Group services are key aspects of the role. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering and/or equivalent work experience
  • Thorough understanding of project accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the schedule and budget for multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience in marketing
  • Supervision of the technical work of others
  • Working knowledge of technical and office support software required to perform the essential functions of the position
  • Consistently presents a professional attitude towards clients and internal staff
  • Effectively communicates with others in the daily completion of tasks or assignments
  • Strives to achieve professional working relationships with others and shows a willingness to help others meet critical deadlines
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle

Nice To Haves

  • Professional registration (P.E., L.S., etc.) in one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business is preferred
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in roadway design, traffic and transportation engineering, including projects for local Departments of Transportation (DOTs)
