About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Manager/Senior Project Manager specializing in Stormwater to join our Stormwater Group in Richmond, VA. This role involves managing assigned projects and client accounts, focusing on marketing, client development, technical quality, profitability, schedule adherence, staff coordination, client communications, scope and fee negotiation, billing, and fee collection assistance. The Project Manager is expected to maintain strong client relationships, cross-sell company services, and communicate regularly with the Group Leader. The ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes simultaneously is crucial. Responsibilities include preparing project specifications, completing design details and plan sets, performing research for summary reports, and working with local governments on TMDL and MS4 regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with equivalent work experience.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Virginia, and/or one or more states where Timmons Group conducts business, or ability to obtain P.E. in Virginia in a timely manner.
  • 6+ years of experience in civil engineering related to Stormwater management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the schedule and budget for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in marketing and supervision of the technical work of others.
  • Working knowledge of CADD and/or Civil 3D software (Civil 3D preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Successful management of assigned projects and development of assigned client accounts.
  • Marketing and client development.
  • Ensuring technical quality, profitability, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Coordinating project staff and managing client communications.
  • Negotiating scopes and fees.
  • Handling billing and assisting in fee collection.
  • Performing client follow-up and maintenance.
  • Maintaining superior client relationships and cross-selling Timmons Group services.
  • Ongoing communication with the Group Leader.
  • Managing several mid-sized projects, multiple small projects, or a single larger project simultaneously.
  • Preparing specifications materials through research and catalogs.
  • Completing design details and plan sets.
  • Performing research and writing objective summary reports.
  • Working with Local Governments on TMDL and MS4 Regulatory Compliance issues.
