This role involves planning, organizing, and controlling project activities to ensure successful completion within established schedules, budgets, and QA/QC policies. Typical projects include municipal water, sewer, and roadway infrastructure, dams, site planning, and stormwater management. You will work in a team environment on a broad range of engineering projects from planning through implementation.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with a minimum of 4 years of related experience OR Engineer in Training (EIT) on track to attain PE license with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Sound mathematical skills are required.
  • A working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.
  • A criminal background check and driving record check will be conducted.
  • Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Supports project team toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective set of plans and specifications for each individual project.
  • Conducts engineering computations to design difficult and complex engineering projects.
  • Communicates directly with governmental/regulatory staff relative to design concepts and requirements.
  • Represents clients at regulatory agency hearings or meetings.
  • Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and reports regularly on project status to Project Manager.
  • Monitors compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
  • Responsible for the design concept of the plans and specifications.
  • Consults and advises field engineers, contractors, and inspectors regarding the construction phase of the project.
  • Communicates with the Project Manager on project strategy and matters that may impact the outcome of a project.
  • Assists in preparation of project proposals including scope of work, time schedule, and manpower estimates.
  • Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise.
