Civil Project Engineer
About The Position
Herzog Contracting Corp. is currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in Perryville/Havre De Grace, MD. Herzog is demolishing the existing Susquehanna River rail bridge and constructing in its place two new two-track bridge structures, including five miles of new approach trackwork and civil works. Duties and Responsibilities: This is a non-exhaustive overview of the job duties for this position. Assist Project Manager and Civil Superintendent while acting as support for the field. Know the contractual obligations that HCC has with the client and vice versa. Review and log shop drawings; assist field engineers with processing of submittals and RFI’s Code materials, labor and equipment. Procurement and timely delivery of materials to the project. Process material submittals and requests for information. Assist with Subcontract administration Acquire and assist with closing construction-related permits Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong leadership, communication (i.e. verbal and written), and organizational skills
- Ability to work with a team.
- Must be highly motivated.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent experience in a heavy civil construction related position preferred.
- Railroad Construction experience is a plus.
- experience with Procore is a plus.
