About The Position
Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer III for their Land Development team in Ashburn, VA. This role will focus on various land development projects including K12 schools, higher education, data centers, fire stations, and parks. The position involves assisting clients with zoning, civil site plan approvals, and construction administration. Project engineers work in teams with design engineers and a project manager in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that fosters teamwork, diverse training, and a sense of ownership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in land development engineering, including residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D required.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Nice To Haves
- EIT certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Designing site layouts, grading, utilities, and stormwater systems using Civil 3D and other modeling tools.
- Performing engineering calculations and solving real-world design challenges.
- Preparing technical specifications and construction documents.
- Conducting research and writing objective reports to support project completion.
- Assisting with cost estimates and construction planning.
- Supporting field inspections and data collection.
- Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and senior engineers to deliver high-quality results.
