About The Position
Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III to join their Roadway Design Transportation Group in Richmond, VA. This role involves working on impactful transportation projects and offers career growth within a collaborative team. The position is eligible for straight-time overtime.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- 2+ years of experience in transportation civil engineering, specifically roadway design
- Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D preferred
- Familiarity with VDOT standards and procedures preferred
- EIT certification preferred
- High energy, creative, flexible, patient, self-starters who are willing to work at a dynamic pace

Responsibilities
- Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects
- Develop 3D models and plans using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
- Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software
- Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages
- Perform roadway and drainage calculations using engineering software and reference materials
- Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates
- Research and utilize open-source GIS data for project planning
- Conduct field observations and data collection to support design discussions
- Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance team capabilities
- Participate in client and contractor meetings to support project delivery
