About The Position

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Entry-Level Engineer to work with experienced engineers on telecommunications and utility projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the utility engineering industry. The position involves supporting project development, completing site visits (including surveying, locating, and documenting existing conditions, which may involve overnight travel), reviewing roadway plans for utility conflicts, and designing telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or similar software.

Requirements

BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, from an ABET accredited institution
0-3 years of experience
Computer proficiency with MS Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Project
Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills
Must be willing to travel and have a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

Exposure to transportation plans, telecommunications, or utilities a plus
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification a plus
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

Responsibilities

Support telecommunication and utility related project development
Complete site visits including but not limited to surveying, locating, and documenting existing conditions (may include overnight travel depending on job location)
Review roadway plans to identify conflicts with existing utilities
Design telecommunications and other utility projects using MicroStation, AutoCAD, or other design software
