About The Position

Parametrix is seeking a Civil or Mechanical Engineer to join their Water team. This role will support the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater pump station projects, primarily for local municipalities and public agencies. The position offers flexibility for a hybrid work arrangement and can be based in Portland, Oregon, or Puyallup, Seattle, Silverdale, or Spokane, Washington.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• Five or more years of experience supporting the design or delivery of municipal water and wastewater pump station projects.
• Professional Engineer license in WA or Oregon, or the ability to obtain licensure within 1 year.
• Experience with pump selection, hydraulic calculations, piping systems, equipment layouts, and pump station rehabilitation or replacement projects.
• Familiarity with municipal water and wastewater facilities, operations, design standards, and construction practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, design, rehabilitation, and improvement of municipal water and wastewater pump stations and related infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, reports, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and other design deliverables.
• Evaluate existing pump station conditions, system capacity, equipment performance, and operational needs.
• Support the selection and design of pumps, piping, valves, mechanical systems, and related facility improvements.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural, civil, instrumentation and controls, and architectural disciplines to develop integrated project solutions.
• Contribute to a collaborative team environment and help mentor developing engineers and technical staff.
