About The Position

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our Civil Litigation Practice Group in Richmond, Virginia. This position is designed for an individual with zero (0) to five (3) years of legal experience who is seeking the opportunity to develop their litigation skills while supporting attorneys through effective case management, document preparation, discovery, organization, and litigation support in a fast-paced legal environment. The Civil Litigation Paralegal will assist attorneys with all phases of civil litigation by preparing and managing procedural legal documents, supporting discovery, organizing case files and litigation materials, maintaining litigation deadlines, preparing matters for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial, and communicating with clients and third parties regarding procedural matters.

Requirements

  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of legal experience in a law firm or comparable legal environment, with civil litigation experience considered particularly valuable.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • High level of computer literacy and the ability to effectively utilize legal technologies including: document management systems, case management software, electronic filing systems, and other firm-supported technology.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to accurately prepare, organize, and maintain litigation documents and case files.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced litigation environment while exercising sound professional judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive and privileged information.
