About The Position

Our client, a boutique law firm, is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate to join its team. They are looking for an associate with 2–6 years of post-JD experience in civil litigation who is comfortable in a fast-paced, trial-oriented environment and eager to take ownership of complex matters. This is a great opportunity for a litigation associate seeking meaningful responsibility, courtroom exposure, and a supportive firm culture.

Requirements

2–6 years of post-JD experience in civil litigation
Comfortable in a fast-paced, trial-oriented environment
Eager to take ownership of complex matters
2–6 years of civil litigation experience at a law firm, government, or reputable boutique
Strong foundation in discovery and motion practice
JD class years 2019–2023
California bar admission or willingness to sit for the California bar

Nice To Haves

Trial or courtroom experience is a strong plus
Experience in white-collar defense or bankruptcy litigation is a plus

Responsibilities

Manage a diverse caseload, including commercial litigation, white-collar matters, and bankruptcy disputes
Own cases from pleadings through discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation
Collaborate closely with partners and clients on litigation strategy
Draft motions, briefs, and key legal documents
Lead discovery efforts, including taking and defending depositions
Participate in court proceedings, with opportunities to argue motions and examine witnesses
