About The Position

The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a leading law firm in Austin, TX and we are looking to hire an experienced Civil Litigation Associate to join a growing Texas team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, motivated litigator to take on meaningful responsibility, work closely with senior attorneys, gain hands-on litigation, client, and courtroom experience, and help grow the firm's expanding Texas practice.

Requirements

  • Active Texas bar admission
  • Approximately 3–5 years of civil litigation experience
  • Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and client communications
  • Deposition, hearing, mediation, or trial preparation experience
  • Comfortable working on a variety of civil litigation matters

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in real estate, construction, employment, general commercial/civil litigations
  • Defamation matters, business or contract & landlord/tenant disputes
  • Court appearances or second-chair trial work
  • Strong legal writing, research & organizational skills + deadline management
  • Good judgment and willingness to ask questions when needed
  • Ability to communicate clearly with clients and internal team members
  • Collaborative, low-ego mindset with a passion for growing the Texas practice

Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from early case assessment through resolution
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Handle written discovery, document review, and case investigation
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Communicate with clients regarding case status, strategy, deadlines, and next steps
  • Work closely with senior attorneys on litigation strategy and case development
  • Conduct legal research and prepare clear, practical legal analysis
  • Assist with real estate, construction, business, contract, employment, defamation, landlord/tenant, and general civil litigation matters
  • Support the growth of Baker Law Group’s Texas litigation practice
  • Maintain deadlines, organize case materials, and move matters forward efficiently
