About The Position

CSL Group is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Civil Landscape Estimator to join their growing Civil Construction team. This role focuses on preparing competitive bids, solving construction challenges, and collaborating with operations to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will take ownership of projects, contribute to pre-construction planning, and grow their career within a collaborative team. Estimating is the core focus, with involvement in project planning, coordination, and successful handoff to operations. CSL Group builds parks, trails, public spaces, and community projects that shape communities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of estimating experience in civil construction, landscape construction, site development, or a related industry.
  • Experience preparing detailed construction estimates and competitive tender submissions.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience using digital estimating and takeoff software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with municipal or public-sector tenders is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete estimates and tender submissions for civil landscape construction projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents.
  • Complete detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates.
  • Analyze labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and supplier requirements.
  • Request, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities, and cost-saving solutions.
  • Support value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations teams during the pre-construction process.
  • Assist with successful project handoffs following awarded contracts.
  • Maintain organized estimating documentation and pricing information.
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and best practices.
