Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Criminal Justice, Accounting, Finance, Business, Public Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Relevant professional experience may be substituted for education requirements, where applicable.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting complex civil, regulatory, administrative, or financial investigations.
  • Ability to analyze financial, business, and investigative records to identify relevant facts and support civil enforcement or litigation.
  • Experience preparing clear, accurate, and well-supported investigative reports and presenting findings both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of civil investigative procedures, discovery processes, and evidentiary standards.
  • Experience utilizing commercial and government investigative databases (e.g., Accurint, FinCEN, and similar research tools).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct both field and desk-based investigations independently and manage multiple investigative priorities.
  • This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized investigative training, certifications, or professional credentials are preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting government civil litigation, regulatory enforcement, inspector general investigations, or comparable civil investigative functions is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports government efforts to enforce and collect outstanding civil judgments and criminal restitution orders that are administered through civil enforcement processes.
  • Conducts investigative and analytical activities to identify assets, locate individuals and entities, verify financial information, and develop evidence that supports post-judgment and pre-judgment collection efforts in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and court orders.
  • Conduct complex investigations in support of civil enforcement, litigation, regulatory, and other government civil matters.
  • Gather, analyze, and evaluate financial, business, public, and investigative records to identify relevant facts, verify information, and support case objectives.
  • Analyze documentation including tax returns, bank records, financial statements, general ledgers, and other records as required to support civil investigations.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive investigative reports, affidavits, declarations, and other written products.
  • Support all phases of civil investigations, including case development, discovery, subpoena preparation and tracking, witness identification, collateral inquiries, and pre-judgment investigative activities.
  • Coordinate with federal, state, local, tribal, and international agencies and organizations, as required, to obtain or verify information relevant to civil matters.
  • Provide investigative guidance, analytical support, and subject matter expertise to government attorneys, investigators, and other personnel.
  • Present investigative findings and provide testimony during depositions, hearings, trials, or other civil legal proceedings, as required.
  • Conduct briefings and training related to investigative processes, findings, and best practices.
  • Maintain accurate case documentation and ensure timely entry of investigative activities into government databases and case management systems.
