Civil Inspector
About The Position
AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Inspector in Rocky Hill, CT. This role involves monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements by performing inspection duties. The Civil Inspector will also provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers, set project deadlines, and offer on-the-job training to new employees. Key activities include performing daily field inspections, maintaining inspection records, completing punch lists, testing, and commissioning. The role also requires tracking quality assurance progress, documenting railroad force account activities and protection, photographing contractor work, documenting non-conforming work, and tracking pay item quantities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study and 4 years of experience as a Civil Inspector, Field Engineer, Construction Manager, or in a related occupation.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Civil Inspector, Field Engineer, Construction Manager, or in a related occupation.
- Experience in a construction environment
- Experience preparing daily work inspection reports
- Experience conducting tiebacks, drilled shaft, and pile inspections
- Experience conducting storm water management and spill prevention inspections
- Experience overseeing Geotechnical borings
- Experience monitoring and reporting contractor safety
- Experience coordinating contractor activities
