About The Position

Apex Companies is a fast-growing engineering and environmental consulting firm seeking a motivated Civil Graduate to join their team in Richland, WA. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to develop technical expertise on diverse public and private projects. The Greater Washington Division is a collaborative, multidisciplinary team with expertise in Civil and Transportation Engineering, Environmental Services, Land Surveying and Landscape Architecture, Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Management. They focus on delivering integrated solutions and prioritize collaboration, client service, and professional development.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s in civil engineering
• Demonstrated aptitude to perform civil engineering design tasks for municipal public works and private development projects
• Flexibility and creativity in project approaches and openness to learn and develop your career
• Knowledge of stormwater analysis software and reporting
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

• Proficient skills in AutoCAD and Civil 3D highly desired
• Obtained Engineer in Training (EIT) license or ability to obtain within one year
• Familiarity with Hydro-CAD stormwater modeling software
• Relevant internship or previous professional experience

Responsibilities

• Receive direction on engineering tasks and maintain active communication with project managers.
• Effectively manage multiple assignments and prioritize with input from project managers and professional engineers.
• Willingness to work in fast paced environments across multiple engineering disciplines and project types.
• Preparation of construction documents required to construct both public and private infrastructure projects.
• Prepare written reports detailing design and functionality of stormwater systems in accordance with local and state stormwater requirements.
• Prepare detailed stormwater models.
• Prepare utility designs for stormwater, municipal water and sewer systems.
• Design of roadways and preparation of grading analysis for sites.
• Deliver engineering design projects using Autodesk Civil 3D software.
