Requirements

  • 1+ year of construction or outdoor labor experience preferred (or willingness to learn)
  • Ability to perform physical labor in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Reliable attendance and ability to report to assigned job sites
  • Ability to follow direction and work effectively as part of a crew
  • Strong commitment to safety on all tasks
  • Valid driver’s license required for operating company equipment and vehicles when assigned

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Experience with concrete, excavation, or site work
  • Equipment experience
  • Rigging or signal person experience
  • Knowledge of environmental best management practices (BMPs)

Responsibilities

  • Follow all TRICO safety standards and help keep the jobsite safe
  • Participate in safety meetings, training, and company initiatives
  • Spot and speak up about unsafe conditions
  • Report near misses and incidents right away
  • Always use required PPE
  • Help with digging, trenching, grading, and compaction
  • Hand locate utilities and safely dig around underground infrastructure
  • Support demolition work while following safety and dust control practices
  • Set up and maintain site protection (barriers, stairs, weather protection, etc.)
  • Assist with concrete work: placing, finishing, patching, and repairs
  • Set and strip forms for curb, gutter, sidewalks, and flatwork
  • Help with grading and leveling to meet specs
  • Signal operators to support safe equipment movement
  • Use hand tools and equipment safely (training provided as needed)
  • Assist operators with safe movement and placement
  • Operate equipment on an as-needed basis
  • Clean, maintain, and store tools properly
  • Help with spraying, washing, and general cleanup
  • Load, unload, and move materials
  • Keep the jobsite clean, organized, and hazard-free
  • Stay productive and help wherever the crew needs support
  • Take direction from the Foreman and stay on task
  • Communicate material needs, issues, and safety concerns
  • Support crew productivity and help keep things moving
  • Be open to feedback and continuous improvement
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support project success.
