As a Civil Field Engineer, you’ll play a critical role working at the intersection of design, field execution, and client collaboration. This is not a back-office role. You’ll be in the field, influencing outcomes, solving real-world challenges, and driving projects from concept through construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy industrial, water, or wastewater projects
  • Strong knowledge of engineering codes, standards, and QA/QC practices
  • Proficiency with CAD tools
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in dynamic environments
  • Excellent communication skills—able to work seamlessly with clients, crews, and internal teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the design and execution of facilities such as service roads, yard piping, and drainage and supporting infrastructure
  • Translate engineering concepts into buildable designs, specifications, and construction documents
  • Partner with Project Managers to drive project delivery—on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Analyze site data (survey reports, maps, geotechnical inputs) to inform design decisions and mitigate risk
  • Perform process calculations (flows, loadings, system performance) critical to system design
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for internal teams, clients, and field personnel
  • Oversee and coordinate subconsultants and multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct design reviews and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines
  • Support field inspections, QA/QC programs, and construction activities
  • Identify opportunities to improve system performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Contribute to proposals and help win exciting new projects
