About The Position

The Caturus platform was founded by Kimmeridge, an alternative asset manager focused on the energy sector, with subsequent additional investment by Mubadala Energy. Caturus is building an independent, fully integrated natural gas and LNG export platform in the U.S. through a combination of its upstream operations and Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 Mtpa LNG export terminal in southwestern Louisiana. Together, they will provide low-cost energy on demand with the lowest carbon footprint. Commonwealth LNG is seeking an individual to join us as a Civil Field Engineer. This role is responsible for supporting on‑site construction activities by providing technical guidance, field oversight, and coordination across civil scopes of work. This position will be located on Site (Louisiana) and will be initially responsible for early works.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience required: earth works, piling, foundations, etc
  • Understanding of OSHA general industry and/or construction standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering, construction, and design principles.
  • Experience with design software and tools, including AutoCAD, 3D modelling software.
  • Experience in Health and Safety policies, procedures, and standards in Industrial operations, natural gas operations, or liquefaction facilities, and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Eligible to work in the US, pass a drug test and background check with a criminal history.
  • TWIC Required (Current owner or can obtain).
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal and written formats.

Nice To Haves

  • Gulf Coast and LNG experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow Commonwealth LNG safety programs, policies, and procedures in support of HSE strategies.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other topographical and design data to plan projects.
  • Perform on-site inspections to ensure that the construction adheres to the architectural plans and safety regulations.
  • Interpret civil engineering plans and construction designs for practical application on site.
  • Support day‑to‑day field construction by observing civil works, ensuring adherence to Quality Control procedures, EPC contractor and subcontractor quality plans, and required inspections.
  • Interface daily with construction supervisors, contractors, engineering, and project management to coordinate execution plans, clarify technical requirements, and keep work progressing efficiently.
  • Perform and validate civil engineering calculations and field‑related evaluations, including grading, drainage, earthwork, foundations, roadwork, and site preparation, ensuring all work aligns with approved engineering deliverables.
  • Review construction documents, contractor submittits, RFIs, NCRs, and daily inspection reports to confirm technical accuracy, compliance with specifications, and resolution of field discrepancies.
  • Prepare reports on field activities and project status and progress.
  • Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at site.
