This role is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Field Engineer - Civil to gain hands-on field engineering experience in a supportive construction environment on the combined cycle gas turbine Project Kilby in Pecos, Texas. The position is contingent upon project award and requires mobilization to the project on a long-term (camp) assignment in Pecos, TX.

Requirements

  • Civil engineering degree with less than 1 year of experience.
  • Basic knowledge of civil engineering, construction materials, installation sequence and interpretation of civil drawings.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation of construction drawings, sketches, projections and schedules for workforce, material, and equipment requirements.
  • Assists in planning construction methods and procedures.
  • Initiates requisitions for field purchases.
  • Assists in preparation of quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
  • Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
  • Ensures zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Proactively considers continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
  • Assists supporting construction engineers, discipline superintendents, foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents.
  • Develops firm understanding of system and area scoping and drawings required for package development.
  • Builds system and area turnover packages both digitally and physically for turnover to startup and client.
