About The Position

Michels Road & Stone, Inc. constructs roads, airports, large site developments, and shoreline protection projects. As an Estimator – Civil, you will focus on mass excavation, building excavation, underground utilities, paving, and hardscape scopes. Your key responsibilities will include evaluating bid specifications and drawings, attending pre-bid meetings, soliciting material and subcontractor quotes, and ensuring all necessary components for successful project bidding and winning are accomplished. This role also involves collaborating with Project Management teams to follow up on bids and budgets to close business. Essential qualities for this position include being forward-thinking, performance-driven, and quality-focused. The ability to work independently and produce highly accurate work in a timely manner is critical for success.

Requirements

Associates degree in related field or 3+ years experience in heavy civil work
Experience estimating heavy civil projects
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Negotiation experience
Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
Ability to travel as needed

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of estimating and scheduling software (P6, HCSS Heavy Bid)

Responsibilities
