About The Position

SRK Consulting is seeking a Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer for its Civil Engineering Department in Elko, Nevada. The position provides civil and environmental engineering support for mine waste and water engineering projects, including design, cost estimates, project coordination, permitting, and field work. The engineer will work with other technical specialists and help develop and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in civil, geotechnical/geological, or mining engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the mining industry or engineering consulting.
• Candidates must possess authorization to work in the United States.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel.

Nice To Haves

• Registered EIT or PE, or ability to obtain certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, GIS, slope stability and/or hydrologic analyses and software programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design for mine waste and water engineering projects.
• Prepare and review construction cost estimates.
• Prepare and review reclamation cost estimates.
• Assist with project management of technical deliverables, scheduling, and budgets.
• Assist with preparation of permitting applications.
• Perform field work, including geotechnical investigations and engineering oversight during construction.
• Manage QA/QC activities on mine-related earthworks.
• Work collaboratively with other technical specialists.
• Develop and maintain client relationships.
