Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hydrosystems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field of study and 5 years of experience as a Water Resources Engineer, Drainage Engineer, or related occupation
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree in Hydrosystems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field of study with 3 years of experience
  • Experience in HEC RAS
  • Experience in HEC HMS
  • Experience in XPSWMM
  • Experience in PCSWMM
  • Experience in FLOWMASTER
  • Experience in HYDROCAD
  • Experience in MS Excel, including data entry and organization, arithmetic operations, charts, and budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience in Civil3D
  • Experience in StormCAD
  • Experience in Microstation

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design water resources projects involving hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping, stormwater modeling, flood control, dam safety, dam removal, stream restoration, and transportation-related drainage design
  • Provide engineering review of stormwater and erosion control plans
  • Develop scopes of work and budgets/proposals for water resources projects or for water resources components of larger projects
  • Prepare permit applications and pursue approval
  • Develop and formulate cost effective, technical solutions to client problems on assigned projects
  • Prepare construction plans, specifications, construction cost estimates, correspondence, and reports
  • Communicate and work with other project team members to provide quality service to clients to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards
  • Mentor, train, and grow the engineering team
