Looking to get the most out of your upcoming internship? Hatch is seeking a Civil Engineering Tunnels Student with interest in Underground Structures engineering for a 4 or 8-month internship starting Fall 2026. Reporting to Tunnels Project Engineers you will support offices globally working from our Mississauga office.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree in Civil / Structural Engineering at an accredited University.
  • Relevant courses: Civil, Structural, Geotechnics, Utilities, Project Management
  • Knowledge of current technical engineering codes and practices.
  • Proficiency in the use of either or: AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Civil3D
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook).
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Highly motivated, with a positive attitude
  • Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects.
  • Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges.
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a design team, assisting with conceptual, preliminary and detailed design; site inspection; design calculations, report writing.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers and related disciplines as required to assist with project deliverables.
  • Prepare design submissions and other technical documents.
