Requirements

1+ years of experience in the surveying or construction industry
Working knowledge of computers
Professional communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills
Ability to work independently and with a team
High school degree or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in civil engineering technology
Construction surveying experience
Ability to test bituminous pavement and aggregates
Ability to use programs like Microsoft Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and geographic information systems (GIS)

Responsibilities

Perform surveying and field activities to support road, bridge, and drainage system projects.
Measure grades and collect topography data.
Verify staking and layout plans.
Create project estimates.
Use AutoCAD software to draft construction designs.
Document research findings.
Coordinate with the team to complete work.
Complete outdoor construction inspections.
Check job site safety and ensure quality assurance.
Receive and verify construction materials.
Perform field measurements.
Complete administrative duties like payroll.
Test samples for bituminous materials and aggregates.
Prepare highway maps.
Inspect highways and bridges.
Update infrastructure databases.
Respond to questions from the public.
