About The Position

Responsible for the planning and engineering design of transportation projects for public/governmental agencies, and for conducting transportation analysis and traffic engineering studies. All work to be performed under supervision of licensed engineer. Prepare and oversee preparation of transportation analyses, documentation of results, concept designs, costing and feasibility evaluations in accordance with established engineering standards and policies AASHTO, MUTCD, HCM, and state DOT design manuals; perform engineering design of roadways, highways, gradings, utility connection, erosion control, and related infrastructure; create construction documents, including drawings and technical specifications; design alignments, drainage systems and grading. and produce technical deliverables for highway and transportation engineering projects; prepare technical documents, traffic control device construction contract documents, public presentations, and proposals; develop contract documents for temporary traffic control, traffic signalization, signing and pavement marking and roadway lighting including cost estimation and specification preparation; conduct site visits and field inspections of projects. Position duties require extensive utilization of MicroStation, GIS and CAD software. Position based in Pittsburgh, PA; may work at home up to 2 days per week, subject to change at any time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with coursework in traffic engineering and urban transportation planning
  • Minimum two years of experience in the position offered
  • Applicants must be authorized to accept permanent employment in the U.S. with any employer
  • Extensive utilization of MicroStation, GIS and CAD software
