About The Position

Haley Ward is seeking a Civil Engineering Manager for their Glastonbury, CT office. This role involves leading, planning, organizing, designing, and controlling project activities to ensure successful completion within established schedules, budgets, and QA/QC policies. Typical projects focus on Municipal Infrastructure Civil Engineering, including site planning, permitting, and municipal infrastructure design. The position also entails leading and managing municipal infrastructure projects and client relationships in the Glastonbury area, developing professional plans and specifications, supervising and reviewing the work of engineers and technicians, managing projects, and preparing agreements. The role includes career path planning, mentoring, and business development to expand client relationships.

Requirements

  • BS in an Engineering field, Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Minimum of 15 years of related industry & project management experience
  • Strong leadership skills and an effective manager of people with the ability to inspire, lead, communicate, support, and mentor.
  • Documented experience in serving municipal / civil / water / wastewater clients in Connecticut
  • Sound mathematical skills
  • Working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license & reliable transportation
  • Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work

Responsibilities

  • Leading, planning, organizing, designing, and controlling project activities.
  • Ensuring project completion within established schedules, budgets, and QA/QC policy constraints.
  • Leading and managing municipal infrastructure projects and client relationships in the Glastonbury area.
  • Development of professional, economical, and effective sets of plans and specifications.
  • Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing work of engineers, technicians, and designers.
  • Managing projects, overseeing, and delegating tasks, and engaging in design of projects.
  • Preparing agreements including scope, schedule, work plan, fees and monitors financial performance of projects.
  • Participating in career path planning and development, performance plans, mentoring, and resource sharing for supervised team members.
  • Cultivating personal business relationships and seeking opportunities for cross-selling to enhance and expand existing client relationships.
