About The Position

As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will join our Site Civil Design Team in our Westfield, MA office, where you’ll play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure projects across the Northeast. Working with industry experts, you’ll tackle complex challenges that strengthen community resilience and advance environmental sustainability. Our Land Use Team and ProjectsNearly 120 professional engineers strong and recent recipients of multiple ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards, our senior technical and project management leaders have earned an outstanding reputation with private, state, and local government clients. We assist clients from the initial conceptual stages of a project through schematic design, design development, permitting, construction documents, bidding, and construction oversight. Well versed in local, state, and federal regulations and permitting requirements, as well as ever evolving climate change impacts and concerns, we strive to incorporate sustainability and resiliency into our site plans and designs.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Previous and relevant work experience
  • Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems
  • Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or HydroCAD
  • At least 2 years of completed coursework in a college level academic program
  • Previous internship experience in engineering, design, or consulting

Responsibilities

  • Research, compile, and examine a wide variety of project-related data
  • Assist staff with various projects and/or field assignments
  • Perform computer-aided drafting tasks and create basic plans in AutoCAD
  • Perform engineering calculations under the direction of an engineer
  • Prepare written communications including emails, memorandum, field reports, and specifications
