About The Position

TRC, Member of WSP, is seeking highly motivated and diverse Civil Engineering Interns for its Summer 2027 internship program. The position is based in the Manassas, Virginia office and is a paid, full-time role with an anticipated duration from June through August 2027; the dates are flexible. The internship may transition into a full-time role upon graduation. Interns work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists. The position supports civil engineering project tasks, data work, and preparation of client deliverables, with field assignments as needed. Interns receive support from leaders, mentors, and teammates. Compensation is $20.00–$28.00 per hour and varies based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors. Interns and trainees receive benefits in accordance with the laws of their state or country of residence.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Pursuing a bachelor's or associate degree in civil engineering or a related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Honest, fun, hard-working, and ready to learn and grow.

Nice To Haves

Experience with engineering software applications such as AutoCAD, MathCAD, ESRI, HydroCAD, WaterCAD, or ARCView GIS is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Support project tasks, including regulatory requirements and review estimates, research, and procurement support.
Perform data entry, data management, data evaluation, and data presentation.
Support preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
Work on field assignments as needed.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
