About The Position

TRC is seeking highly motivated and diverse Civil Engineering Interns for its Summer 2027 internship program, based out of the Richmond, Virginia office. This is a paid, full-time position anticipated to run from June through August 2027, with flexible dates. The role may have the potential to transition into a full-time position after graduation. Interns work under the supervision of Project Managers and Team Leaders and partner with engineers, scientists, and technologists.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's or associate degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Basic to intermediate technical writing skills.
• Basic laboratory testing skills.
• Be communicative, analytical, industrious, initiative-taking, adaptable, dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
• Be honest, hard-working, and ready to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Support civil engineering design tasks, including sheet setup, drafting, and proposal development.
• Serve as an inspector and log soil samples during drilling.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
• Participate in field work and occasional driving as part of project responsibilities.
