About The Position

Bolton & Menk is seeking Civil Engineering Interns for their 2027 summer internship season. This role offers a chance to work with a talented team and gain real-world experience supporting municipal infrastructure projects. Interns will work alongside engineers, project managers, and construction professionals, spending time in the field assisting with construction phase activities for transportation projects. Opportunities are available in Water Resources, Environmental, and Municipal Engineering, allowing exposure to various projects and career paths within civil engineering. Placement depends on business needs, location, and student interests/experience.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree program or closely related program from an accredited post-secondary institution.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (desired GPA 3.2 or above).
Desired current status is Sophomore or above.
Completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and be physically capable of navigating rugged terrain for construction observation duties.
Possess a valid driver’s license and own transportation or ability to use public transportation.
Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, part-time basis or internship for any employer without restriction.

Responsibilities

Assist on civil engineering projects with tasks involving civil engineering, planning and design.
Assist with the preparation of reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
Assist with construction observation, performing construction staking, and performing construction administration duties.
Work on various reports, complete design calculations, write specifications, and review shop drawings (in some opportunities).
