Civil Engineering Internship - Summer 2027
About The Position
KEITH is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in its West Palm Beach, Florida office. The intern will learn fundamental engineering processes, construction methods, and permitting practices while contributing to the planning, design, production, and construction of engineering projects for private- and public-sector clients. Projects typically involve site development, stormwater, water and wastewater, paving, grading, drainage, and related improvements. The internship provides exposure to CAD design and drafting; site design; stormwater management; grading and drainage; erosion and sediment control; water treatment; traffic analysis; utility design; engineering calculations; and data research and analysis. The intern will prepare contract documents using AutoCAD, coordinate activities with other disciplines, participate in design and production meetings, and research, evaluate, compile, and prepare materials for permit applications. This is a paid internship program.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude and drive to learn.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Learn and contribute to planning, design, production, and construction activities for engineering projects.
- Prepare contract documents utilizing AutoCAD.
- Coordinate activities with other disciplines, internally and externally.
- Participate in and contribute to design and production meetings.
- Research, evaluate, compile, and prepare materials for permit applications.
- Perform or learn engineering calculations, data research, and analysis.
