As part of Garver’s growing Federal team, the Civil Engineering Intern will assist with design for federal projects. Project work may include roadways, trails, site development, grading, stormwater management, utilities, pavements, master planning, training ranges, civil works, and other general civil engineering tasks. Typical clients include the Air Force, Navy, National Guard, and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, on both design-bid-build and design-build projects. The intern will work alongside and receive mentorship from experienced professionals and industry leaders, gaining practical environmental and civil engineering experience and exposure to the consulting engineering industry. The role may include visits to project sites. This is an in-office position; duties are generally performed in an office setting, with occasional travel to offsite locations for work, related tasks, or meetings. Garver’s Launch program offers an immersive, hands-on summer intern development experience, including networking with other interns and industry professionals, participation in the wellness program and volunteer activities, and professional development through tailored training and skills-based courses. Garver also offers company-paid professional memberships, support for industry licenses, and continuing education opportunities. The company describes its salary packages and benefits as highly competitive and offers a comprehensive wellness program.
