Civil Engineering Intern
About The Position
Civil Engineering Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Civil Engineering team on real client projects. You will support civil engineers in the design and plan production of roadway, grading and drainage, water, sewer, pavement, land development, and erosion control systems, building a base foundation of engineering principles and code requirements that build on your college coursework. You will help produce AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting and design documents, assist with quantities takeoffs and estimating, and research jurisdictional criteria for planning and engineering. You will gain hands-on experience performing civil engineering calculations and designing site and infrastructure elements, participate in site visits before and during construction, and leave with a clear picture of what it means to work in the AEC industry.
Requirements
- Completion of 3+ years of a civil engineering or related undergraduate program
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Cushing Terrell will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
