About The Position

This role involves performing calculations for drainage, grading, and foundation designs, and assisting in the development of site layouts and structural details. The designer will contribute to the production of preliminary concepts and full design phase deliverables, including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and additional materials under the guidance of senior engineers. Responsibilities include performing calculations and analyses for stormwater management systems, sanitary sewer, and water supply and distribution. The role also involves developing and refining CAD and BIM models for civil infrastructure, ensuring multidisciplinary coordination, and assisting with field inspection and data gathering. Ensuring designs comply with building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations, and supporting the preparation of permitting documents are key aspects. The designer will also attend municipal meetings and consult with regulatory agencies as needed, utilizing design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC RAS, EPANET, and MicroStation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET-accredited program or equivalent in education and experience required for professional licensure.
• 5+ years of post-graduation professional Civil Engineering experience.
• Comfortable working in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Engineer In Training (passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam).
• CSI-CDT certification.
• Experience in HEC RAS or EPANET (water distribution).

Responsibilities

• Assist others with field inspection and data gathering.
• Ensure designs align with applicable building codes, zoning laws, and environmental regulations, supporting preparation of permitting documents.
• Attend municipal meetings and consult with regulatory agencies when necessary.
• Use design software/technology, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC RAS, EPANET, MicroStation and other emerging technologies for presentation and production purposes.
