About The Position

Kimley-Horn's Fort Worth, Texas (TX) office is looking for Engineering graduates with 1+ years of experience to join their Land Development team. This is not a remote position. The role involves utilizing technical software programs regularly for analysis, production, and quality control of client deliverables. Responsibilities include contributing to pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for various projects. The analyst will solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to realize client visions. A key aspect of the role is developing familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and client-specific practices, procedures, and standards. The position requires 10% domestic travel. Remote work is permitted one day per week within a reasonable commuting distance of the Fort Worth, TX office.

Requirements

  • ABET accredited bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or closely related field of study.
  • Internship, coursework, and/or professional experience in the following skills:
  • "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
  • University coursework utilizing technical software such as Autodesk CAD and Solidworks to produce chemical engineering designs.
  • Exposure to coursework focused on chemical engineering, including a general introduction to water/wastewater engineering.
  • Successful completion of a senior capstone project supporting water softening treatment.
  • Poster presentation with the university chemical engineering department and national AICHE
  • Experience as an Undergraduate research assistant supporting membrane separation in Chemical and Materials Engineering.
  • Membership and involvement with American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE)
  • Served as a student leader or teaching assistant supporting the development of others studying Chemical Engineering
  • Experience shadowing professionals and operators with a local power facility that includes administering tests on insulating oils, gas analyzers, circuit breakers, etc.
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with Auto Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • Experience with Aspen Hyprotech Systems (HYSYS)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
  • Contribute to the pre-construction civil engineering design, planning, modification, permitting, and analysis for multiple projects ranging in size and scope.
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
