About The Position

A multi-discipline consulting firm is seeking a Project Civil Engineer for their growing team in Suffern, New York! This role involves designing and coordinating multidiscipline projects, conducting due diligence and site feasibility studies, and guiding site engineering through regulatory approvals and full permitting. The engineer will develop site layouts and designs, including grading, storm drainage, roadway design, water and sewer infrastructure, and erosion/sediment control. A key part of the role is utilizing knowledge of NYSDEC stormwater management and SWPPP requirements to prepare hydrology and hydraulic calculations. Project administration, including report writing, information gathering, proposal and correspondence writing, project cost tracking, and progress reporting, is also essential. The position requires preparing engineer's opinions of probable costs and specifications for public bids, coordinating tasks with other departments, communicating directly with clients, and ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget technical delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Site development/municipal engineering project design experience
  • Thorough understanding of the entitlement processes on Long Island
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas
  • Familiar with the design of public infrastructure/public bidding process
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D skills, Autoturn, Excel, and Photoshop
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship
