About The Position

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Early-Career Civil Engineer as part of our site civil services team within our Infrastructure Engineering Services group in our Richmond, Virginia office. The position will have the opportunity to apply academic knowledge to real-world situations while also learning the business skills needed for a successful consulting career. We welcome applications from recent graduates and students completing their degree requirements in December 2026 who are available to begin full-time employment in January 2027. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering.
  • Prior internship experience in civil consulting.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in HydroCAD.
  • Proficiency with site grading and drainage concepts/designs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hydrologic & hydraulic analysis
  • Perform stormwater modeling
  • Develop grading and drainage plans
  • Prepare erosion and sediment control designs
  • Develop construction drawings, details, and specifications
  • Develop permit applications for state and local regulatory body review
  • Review state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to surface water
  • Prepare technical reports and stormwater pollution prevention plans
  • Driving personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.
