About The Position

Ackerman-Estvold is a full-service architectural and civil engineering consulting firm serving clients throughout North Dakota, Montana, and Idaho. As an entry-level Civil Engineer in Boise, you will support projects from concept through construction by contributing to design development and field coordination. The role helps ensure plans are clear, buildable, and aligned with client needs and quality expectations. The work balances office design tasks with field observations. You will review plan sets, organize priorities, prepare CAD updates, observe project progress at job sites, document notes and follow-ups, compile project documentation, and participate in meetings to discuss goals and resolve issues. Regular communication with clients, teammates, and other stakeholders supports coordination between construction and design decisions. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
Working knowledge of CAD, such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Comfort analyzing data.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

Support civil design and plan review for construction projects, including prioritizing requirements and tracking updates.
Produce and refine design deliverables using CAD tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
Assist with site observations and coordination, documenting progress and follow-ups.
