About The Position

LaBella Associates, established in 1978 and a multi-disciplined architectural and engineering firm, is seeking a Civil Engineer for its Civil division in Frederick, MD. The firm has offices across several US states and Madrid, Spain, and is known for its client satisfaction through teamwork, respect, and trust. The Civil Division offers comprehensive services including Municipal Code Review, Site Plan Permitting Applications, Construction Administration, and development of construction documents. The role involves contributing to all project phases, from design concepts and calculations to producing drawings, managing bids, and supporting construction closeout.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively using oral, graphic, and written forms.
  • BS in Civil Engineering.
  • 2 to 5 years of design experience.
  • Design experience in Maryland required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or Microstation/InRoads and the ability to use either in designing utilities and grading is mandatory.
  • Proficiency with HydroCAD, AutoTURN, Storm and Sanitary Analysis is necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license is preferred.
  • FE certification is preferred.
  • District of Columbia and Virginia design experience preferred.
  • MD Forest Conservation Qualified Professional Certification a plus.
  • MDOT/SHA Experience a plus.
  • Experience working with private, municipal, industrial, and/or institutional clients.
  • Specific experience designing storm drain collection; sanitary collection and conveyance systems; storm water management systems including compliance with local county/municipal guidelines; stormwater management calculations/reports, pump stations; grading schemes; erosion and sediment control measures; and roadways.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong desire to satisfy clients.

Responsibilities

  • Contributing to all phases of Civil Engineering projects including the development of design concepts, performing detailed calculations, collaborating with other engineers and technical staff during detail design, producing effective and high quality drawings and specifications, managing bid phases, and supporting projects through construction and final closeout.
