About The Position

Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S. ECI has an opening for a civil engineer. Technical focus will be on structural engineering and/or site (civil) design for substations and power delivery facilities.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organization and planning skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Commitment to quality and accuracy
Willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
Knowledgeable of applicable codes, standards and design tools
Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B visa status) now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

PE license is preferred depending on experience level.
ACAD Civil 3D experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Development of design criteria, structure design, foundation design, building design, and related works for structural engineering.
Specification of standard shape steel structure, tubular steel structures, fire walls, and related facilities.
Design of drilled pier, shallow/pad, and spread footing foundations.
Development of design criteria for site (civil) engineering.
Grading & drainage design.
Access road design (paved and unpaved sections, vehicle maneuvering modeling, haul road analysis, etc.).
Specification & design of retaining walls, perimeter walls, fences and gates.
Water storm drawing design.
Ability to specify and interpret hydrology studies.
Perform project management functions including scoping; budgeting; scheduling; directing a team of less experienced civil engineers, designers and drafters; project monitoring & control; client interface; and project reporting (depending on experience and interest).
