About The Position

This role supports contract oversight, budget analysis, project planning, vendor coordination, and invoice processing, while ensuring contract compliance through on-site facility inspections. This position will be responsible for administering various maintenance and repair contracts supporting New York City Transit as well as the preparation of new contracts, modifications, qualification of vendors, project management and special projects. Work includes on-site inspections to ensure contractor compliance, address concerns, changes orders and maintain consistent follow up on all outstanding issues. This position will also include researching assignments, project planning/supervision, scheduling of work, monitoring of vendor performance and will include but is not limited to direct oversite of the following maintenance/ repair contracts; paving and related construction, fuel tank systems, fence installations, plumbing, fire suppression/sprinkler systems, emergency generators, UPS and ATS systems. Emergency field coverage and flexibility in work hours are required.

Requirements

  • A valid New York State Professional Engineer's License
  • Four years of full-time experience in civil engineering
  • A master's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college will be accepted as equivalent to one year of full-time experience in civil engineering
  • At least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project (for Assignment Levels II and III)
  • A Motor Vehicle Driver’s License valid in the State of New York may be required for certain assignments and must be maintained for duration of appointment.
