About The Position

ARCO/Murray is seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Civil Engineer to join their team in the Chicago market. This role is crucial to the design/build process, involving site due diligence, designing and drafting land development concept plans, and guiding clients through the initial stages of their building projects. The position offers the opportunity to focus on the broader project vision rather than minute details.

Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering or other Engineering or Design discipline
  • 2-8 years' of land planning experience in Chicago
  • AutoCad Civil 3D experience creating AutoCAD Civil 3D templates and styles is a plus
  • Ability to perform stormwater detention analysis and site utility design calculations independently
  • Ability to read and understand local zoning codes, stormwater management codes, FEMA floodmaps, FWS wetland maps, record civil and survey drawings

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
  • ARCO/Murray will support the pursuit of licensure for EIT and offer a $5,000 bonus for successful competition of PE license

Responsibilities

  • Research and collect site-specific information to initiate the land development process and perform site investigative due diligence
  • Design and draft multi-building land development concept plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D for commercial and industrial uses
  • Prepare schematic site plan, grading, and utility plans to illustrate site developability based on learned constraints
  • Perform stormwater detention analysis, site utility design, and earthwork analysis to best inform site planning effort for cost and constructability
  • Meet with internal and external customers to review concept plans, discuss advantages to multiple approaches, and work to define direction of project with Design/Build contracting team
