About The Position

AECOM’s West Region is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join the Southwest Dams team. The role supports dams, mining, and surface water business lines and works with multidisciplinary teams on water-resource projects involving civil and dam design, spillway hydraulics, surface-water and hydrologic modeling, dam-breach studies, and related reporting. The position offers opportunities to develop technical and non-technical skills while taking ownership of project work alongside experienced professionals. The engineer contributes to designs for regional mine sites, power plants, and dams, including stockpiles, impoundments, tailings dams, and water dams. Work includes preparing conceptual layouts and performing calculations and analyses for water-management and site infrastructure, preparing reservoir and pond designs, developing estimates and alternatives, and contributing to proposals, reports, permits, and other project documents. The role may also involve engagement with other regional offices and building effective working relationships with clients and colleagues. AECOM requires newly hired employees to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office. Relocation and visa sponsorship are not available for this position. Benefits may vary based on employment status and may include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D and disability benefits; paid time off and leaves; voluntary benefits and perks; flexible work options; well-being resources; an employee assistance program; business travel insurance; service recognition awards; a retirement savings plan; and an employee stock purchase plan.
